Admission at Shihezi University
Shihezi University, School of Medicine offers Bachelor of Medicine and
Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree course taught in English to the
international students. English is the medium of language to study for
the MBBS course and Chinese is a compulsory subject. The degree course is
covered of two years of basic medical science, three years of clinical
science training and one year of internship.
1. Approval / Recognition
Shihezi University have been recognized by the Ministry of Education, P.R
China to enroll international students for the MBBS degree course in an
English medium. There are only 45 medical universities out of 200 who
have the authority to enroll international MBBS students in English
medium in the list of year 2015.
Shihezi University is also listed in The World Directory of Medical
Universities published by WHO. The International Medical Education
Directory (IMED), Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECMFG)
and the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and
Since the year 2004, the university has enrolled ten batches of medical
students from Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, etc into the
MBBS degree courses. Nine batches of international MBBS students have
been graduated from this medical university as of 2015. The MBBS
graduates have excelled in the medical council licensing examinations in
their respective countries including Nepalese Medical Council Licensing
Examinations and Medical Council of India Screening Test Examinations
while other graduates have passed USMLE licensing Examination to practice
in USA and Australia Medical Council Licensing Examination to practice in
Australia. Graduates of this medical university, school of medicine have
been employed in reputed government or private hospitals in their home
2. Duration of MBBS Degree Course
The MBBS Degree Course is of 5 years + 1 year internship. The students
can do internship at the university hospitals or in their own home
country in a hospital which is recognized by the Ministry of Health of
their home country. If any of the MBBS students wish to do internship in
the hospitals of the university in China, they must pass HSK examination,
as per regulations of MOE of China before the 6th year internship.
3. Medium of teaching
Shihezi University, School of Medicine has been teaching MBBS courses in
English medium since 2004. Most of the faculties have been educated from
prestigious Medical Universities in China. Therefore they can perfectly
teach the MBBS degree courses in English medium. School of Medicine is
one of the best and well known in China.

Application deadline: The academic year begins in the month of October of
every year. The process of applying for autumn enrollment begins in the
month of May and ends in July. All application materials must be received
by the middle of July.

Note: We begin enrollment in May, all applicants must submit all the
above required documents and certifications by the application deadline.
Admission will be confirmed after the verification and the interviews
conducted by the University Officials.
